Travel deeper in a day

Imagine meeting a new friend in their city. You’re hanging out in their favourite bars, chatting to larger-than-life characters in local markets or eating incredible street food down an alley you would’ve strolled straight past.

Sure, you’ll see the highlights, but you’ll also visit under-the-radar spots and get to know a place in a way that’s only possible with someone who lives there.

It’s an Intrepid adventure, in just one day.

Why travel with us

Our trips are about more than good times. For over 35 years, we’ve led travellers around the world to share in experiences that genuinely connect you to a place, its stories and the local people. Designed to go beyond the hotspots, our trips let you see the big sights in other ways and help keep the benefits of tourism where they belong.

Designed and led by locals

Connect with the people who know a place best and get an insider’s guide to the culture, food and hidden spots you might otherwise miss.

Small groups, unexpected highlights

Most of our day trips are capped at 12 travellers, letting you sidestep the crowds and make real connections in new places.

Travel with purpose

Our trips are built to do good. We’ve been a Certified B Corp since 2018 and give back to the places we visit through The Intrepid Foundation.

Our story

Intrepid was founded by two friends, Darrell and Geoff, who had a bold idea to build a travel company that benefited both travellers and the communities they visit.

Their big idea sprung to mind in 1988, not long after they crammed themselves and some friends into a modified ex-council truck and headed off on a roadtrip across Africa. More than three decades later, we're proud to call ourselves the world's largest purpose-led adventure travel company.
