About Mexico City

A group of travellers on a history walking tour of Mexico City

Mexico’s capital is noisy, chaotic and bursting at the seams with culture. History runs deep here, with the Templo Mayor ruins and Xochimilco Canals offering a glimpse into its time as the Aztec Empire’s capital. While its 150 museums, UNESCO-listed historic centre and arty neighborhoods (including Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul) will keep you busy, you could easily spend all your time eating your way through the city’s 10,000+ taquerias... but leave room for tostadas and chilaquiles, too. With over 21 million people, many of whom moved from across the country, it’s even possible to taste all the flavors of Mexico without leaving the city.
