About Delhi

A group of travellers standing on the steps of Jama Masjid while learning about its history

It’s hard to describe Delhi. This is a city of over 22 million people, with constant noise and a whirlwind of flavours and colours. One minute you’ll be dodging holy cows and motorbikes as you walk through a street lined with bags of spices, temples and chai stalls. The next, you’ll find yourself in an art-filled alley or heritage garden among thousand-year-old Mughal-era monuments. While the sights, sounds and energy of Delhi can take some getting used to, they’re all part of what makes it one of India's most fascinating cities.
